If you are looking for a fun and engaging homeschool field trip this spring, mark your calendars for Homeschool Day at the Speed Art Museum on Friday, March 22, 2019! 

On this day, homeschool families receive:
1. Discounted Museum admission from 10am-5pm
2. Free drop-in education programs
3. Self-guided activities for students in grades K-12.

Docent-guided tours at the Speed Art Museum invite everyone to look closely, engage in conversations, and explore connections between artworks and the world. Our school tours are designed to help inspire curiosity, build visual literacy skills, and encourage students to connect personally with art.

Art Detectives is a unique program that brings works of art from the Speed’s education collection to the classroom. Students receive a dynamic, hands-on experience with our works of art; collaborating and discovering the history and art-making process behind objects from around the world. Using tools like gloves and magnifying glasses, students become artistic sleuths in the pursuit to deepen their relationship with art.

Art Sparks is our interactive gallery for all ages. Fifteen hands-on activities help adults and children connect with art and with each other.

Explore the Museum at your own pace with self-guided activity materials for grades K-5 and grades 6-12. Materials, clipboards, pencils, and maps may be picked up from the Guest Relations desk.
